my sparkly obsession of the day: sam edelman alexander high top sneaker

These high top sneakers are not my style. AT ALL. But dear lord, I am obsessed. I can’t rationalize paying $100 for studded high top sneakers, but if these puppies go on sale, I am all over it.

Also, I get that they’re not sparkly, but the studs are shiny so it’s close enough. GET OFF MY CASE.

Kudos to Possessionista and her ability to ID Emily Maynard fashion for posting the tea rose version of these in the first place and being responsible for this unexpected obsession.

it’s the most wonderful time of the year: my nordstrom semi-annual sale damage

I used to think that there weren’t a lot of things that I love as much as the Nordstrom pre-fall semi-annual sale.

Then I PRE-SHOPPED the Nordstrom semi-annual sale. LOVE.

Rather than some obnoxious proclamation of why I love said retail outlet, I instead leave you with a sampling of my 2012 sale purchases. It doesn’t end until Sunday, so there’s still time to add.

Michael Kors aviators:

Kate Spade earrings (mine are studs, not drops)

Zella track jacket:

Caslon cardigan:

Vince Camuto bandage top

Trouve sweater tunic

Allen Allen tiered linen skirt

Jag Jeans crop pants

All in all, I’d say I was successful. There were a couple other purchases that were no longer available on the website, so you missed out on those, but you get the gist.

Product Spotlight: Lululemon’s Debut Tank

It’s been a while since I’ve found a product that I deemed worthy of a spotlight on my blog. After the midnight showing of The Hunger Games on Thursday night/Friday AM, I took Friday off of work so that I could sleep in, run errands, and have lunch with my bestie in St. Paul. A day on Grand Ave is about as good as it gets for me when I want to remove myself from my Edina to NE Mpls, back to Edina routine.

This Friday consisted of a brow wax, a tasty taco lunch (Rusty Taco is where it’s at) and some serious retail therapy at Lululemon. It’s a store that I absolutely love, but not one where I shop (or even enter for fear of finding things I’ll love) often.

I decided it had been a while and that I was going to treat myself. I bought an awesome pair of Hot Yoga pants, a new headband, and a new water bottle.

In addition, I picked up the Debut Tank. Best. purchase. ever. for a variety of reasons.

  1. The flowiness makes it comfy and perfect for moving around in yoga
  2. The “ladies” are well contained with the built-in bra – it’s rare that I find a tank with a built-in bra that will work for me and my 34DDs. This one does the job and then some.
  3. It’s moisture-wicking, chafe resistant, and has a drawstring to reduce flowiness during my yoga class faves like Bakasana and Padangusthasana.
  4. It’s cute.

So seriously, y’alls. I am not typically one to spend $60 on a tank top that isn’t ever going to be seen outside of the yoga studio (though this one might be cute enough to venture into the real world), but I am obsessed with this tank. I am also currently accepting gifts… just sayin’.
